WHAT OR WHO INSPIRED ME TO CREATE EXPOSED NATURALS?
There was a number of factors that lead me to creating Exposed Naturals, but the biggest contributor to this crazy and rewarding journey was… my mum!
In January 2014 my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. I can still remember the feeling of confusion, loneliness and fear that was going through my head at that time. I ended up in a dark place for quite some time because I felt like everything came down on me at once, having just started my first “proper” full time job and enrolled into the Chartered Accountants program – I thought accounting would become useful one day as I have always dreamed of working for myself!
Having heard that there might be a link between breast cancer and higher estrogen levels caused by aluminium contained in generic deodorants, combined with the fact that my mum was a huge lover of all sorts of cosmetics (filled with all sorts of questionable ingredients), my quest for a more natural lifestyle began!
Slowly but surely I replaced everything I put on my body with natural alternatives: makeup, toothpaste, creams, soaps, shampoos and… deodorants! What surprised me the most was the lack of EFFECTIVE natural deodorant options that worked for me. After trying about 10 different brands and throwing away many ruined corporate dresses and tops I settled for whatever kept me (sort of) fresh for longest.
Fast forward to 2017. My mum was now in the clear and I have successfully completed the Chartered Accountants program. My passion for natural kept growing each day, along with the dream of being a business owner – after all I didn’t spend two and a half years working through someone else’s business cases for nothing!! I was excited about putting my business knowledge to use but I had one problem: I had no idea what kind of business I wanted to start!
Until one day during a 6 week break from my corporate job it just hit me: I am going to develop my own natural deodorant range! This is how the idea of Exposed Naturals was born in August 2017.
DOING GOOD AND FEELING GOOD SHOULD BE NATURAL.

A lot of work has gone into bringing my dream to life since then. In fact, two years’ worth of work! Two years’ worth of creating, testing, learning and collaborating. I am incredibly excited to have FINALLY launched Exposed Naturals and I can’t wait for you to try my creation!
